Steel, copper

In Greek mythology, the Hecatoncheires are the sons of Uranus and Gaia. These extremely strong giants, bearers of fifty heads and a hundred arms, are commonly known as the builders of the palace of Zeus, and the keepers of a prison of hell.
They could be seen as the caretakers of the warmest and the coldest architectures one could be responsible for.

This chair combines scrap steel pieces with copper pipes. The organic shape of the first material contrasts with the industrial rigidity of the latter, the cold and stable color shades of the steel balance the wide range of warm copper colors. The industrial becomes warm, the organic becomes cold.

A multitude of legs answer the multitude of small scrap pieces, giving its name to the chair, the Hecatoncheires chair.
